  1. Hello, all. My name is Lucy Garcia, and I taught science in LAUSD for 18 years. Now retired, I aim to help get climate education into the hands of our students. I have two ideas: first is "simply" a salary point class on teaching climate across the curricula. The idea is to highlight the work of many organizations and agencies, and to facilitate discussions among teachers of the many questions that the climate crisis illuminates at the very heart of the subjects we teach. The second is more ambitious. I envision a set of workshops that would open the discussion in school communities, including, in addition to teachers, admins, counselors and staff, a large, possibly randomly-sampled, set of students and parents, about why and how they can teach climate change. To do these ideas, I need help! Any contacts any of you can offer who might help me enrich, plan, redirect even, and implement these ideas would be great! I'm at lg3332848@gmail.com
